Self “Love” Portrait

What happens when we look at a picture of ourselves and choose to see it with a little more love?

In this creative and reflective art workshop, you'll create a painted self-portrait inspired by the bold, expressive self-portraits of Frida Kahlo.

Before class, you'll send us a headshot, which we'll use as the starting point for your canvas. From there, you'll bring your portrait to life with acrylic paint, color, collage if desired, and your own creative expression.

But this isn't a class about learning to paint a portrait. It's an invitation to notice the way we see—and speak to—ourselves, and to practice offering ourselves the same kindness we so readily give to others.

We'll explore self-portraiture as a way to celebrate who we are, where we've been, and the person we're becoming. You'll leave with an original work of art that is uniquely yours—and hopefully, a…
