Mark Aspery Forge Welding & Basket Handled Fire Poker Class

Join us while we learn the ins and outs of forge welding.  Learn how to make a forge welded basket handled fire poker and more if time permits in this one day class with blacksmith Mark Aspery.   

Mark Aspery is a world renowned Master Smith and best selling author of the 3 volume book series, The Skills of A Blacksmith, and is one of the top teachers in the country for traditional blacksmithing. Mark has trained some of the best blacksmiths currently working in the United States, and we are thrilled to have him as a guest instructor at Chappapeela Crafts.  Originally from England, Mark lives in California with his wife. He is certified by the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths, a UK-based guild dating back to London in the year 1324. He has been forging professionally for over 30 years.

This full-day hands-on workshop is $150 including materials. Spots are limited, first come first serve. 

Skill level: Seasoned Beginner and up.

All materials and tools will be provided.

*Safety glasses, closed toed shoes, and non-synthetic clothing required. 

Water and lunch will be provided. Feel free to bring any other beverage or extra snacks you will need for the day. 

Feel free to bring an apron, work gloves, a forging hammer, or tongs if you prefer to use your own.  It is recommended that any tools or personal items brought from home are labeled.
